Self Assessment

#5 Sometimes I don’t feel like my blog meets requirements. Making the shift on how I used to write in high school to now college has somewhat been a challenge. The wording and writing style is something I need help with as well as format. The problems I’ve ran into with writing a blog is the format. I often feel like I’m still writing a paper and not really putting my material in blogging format. I’m not sure about the difference in style between a blog and a paper. Despite me not always being a hundred percent sure I do always put my best foot forward with all my assignments to understand and get the best grade possible. Procrastinating is a problem I’ve struggled with in the past and as far as the semester goes for the most part I’ve been consistent with getting my work done early or right on time. With the exception of one week where I was late due to procrastinating because I fell back into my old ways. When it comes to submitting my work I always proofread and make my own correc

Getting to know Guyana

#4         The beautiful island of Guyana is what most would say a blended pot. For sometime the boundaries of Guyana and which part belonged to who was fought over multiple times by British, Dutch, and French.  Many different ethic groups settled there like East Indians, Africans, Chinese, Portuguese and Europeans. With all these different cultures in this one place they usually all celebrate one anothers holidays and tradition. In Guyana the citizens appreciate every culture and show their appreciation for it by doing their own perception of it. Things like celebrating and mixing everyone’s way is what makes the people from Guyana different as well as the place. Every Guyanaese person is not the same as they all do different but similar things. The history of Guyana is so rich because of the many different cultures that have influenced it over time. While being very diverse is an advantage living in Guyana is not always the best being one of the poorest countries in South America.

Costa Rica History

#3       The beautiful country Costa Rica definitely had their fair share of complicated history which helped them become what they are today. Christopher Columbus first stumbled upon Costa Rica in 1502 and named it “Rich Coast” after during his visit he was presented with gold. Several decades later after neglect the Spanish established their first settlement in Costa Rica in 1564. After that Costa Rica also being called Cartago was thought to be relatively poor and sometimes forgotten. With Costa Rica being such a small part of the Spanish empire they had ties with Mexico; and when Mexico declared independence from Spain in 1821 so did Costa Rica along with several of their Central America neighbors. After declaring their independence they named themselves “First Mexican Empire” which soon collapsed in 1823. After the collapse Costa Rica became a founding member of the United Provinces of Central America which stayed afloat for the next 23 years but not without political turmoil. Eve

Island Travel

#2 The beautiful island Trinidad should definitely be on your list of places to visit. If you are a person who loves to party, eat great food, experience fantastic original music, and be around a wide variety of ethnicities then is the place for you. Trinidad is the sister island of Tobago but what sets Trinidad apart from that island along with others is their history and their culture. Trinidad started off as a spanish colony and experienced some change in leaders for a while until becoming independent with Tobago in 1962. Even with their independence they still keep up the legacy of their past owners through food, music, and carnivals. They also still have a lot of their old architecture which adds to the historic beauty of the island. Some amazing sights to see while there is the old mansion “Magnificent Seven”, the citizens there are really passionate about preserving their history. The citizens are also passionate about their music as well, while visiting there you are sure to h
